| Hi, I am Linda Stremel. I was born in Chico, CA and
grew up on our family almond farm. As a teenager, I worked in the
orchards during the summertime and especially during harvest. I rode
horses and was involved in 4H. My family enjoyed camping and our yearly
horse-packing trip to the Trinity Alps.
I graduated from Chico High School and the University of California
of Davis majoring in Biological Science. I worked as a substitute
teacher in Winters, CA while my husband, Ron Stremel, graduated
from Veterinary school at Davis. I then graduated from Physical
Therapy school at Children's Hospital in Los Angeles.
Prior to moving to Mt. Shasta in 1980, my family and I lived in
Etna in Scott Valley. I had my own private practice in the Rural
Health Center in Etna, provided home health physical therapy and
taught prenatal childbirth classes. I have also worked providing
hospital inpatient physical therapy, consulted for Siskiyou County
Special Education Department in the Elementary schools; and I have
worked as a pediatric physical therapist treating children with
cerebral palsy. I have been with Mt. Shasta Physical Therapy full
time since 1985.
My personal interests include most outdoor sports: swimming, rafting,
skiing, backpacking, bicycling, gardening, telemark skiing, skate
skiing and reading. I like sewing and crafts, although lately I
do not find the time for them in my life. I enjoy gardening at home
and around the building here at Mt. Shasta Physical Therapy, adding
to the beauty of our natural setting.
Our 2 children, Megan and Shelby, are grown, married, and pursuing
education in physical therapy and teaching. Both couples live in
Dunsmuir. Our family continues to enjoy traveling and participating
in outdoor sports together. I feel truly blessed to live, work and
play in the Mt. Shasta area.
