| Sandy Orwig was raised in upstate New York on her family's
apple farm. In addition to growing apples, her family was very involved
in ski racing.
After high school, Sandy moved to Salt Lake City where she began
an education in athletic training at the University of Utah. From
there she transferred to the University of Puget Sound where she
received her Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy in 1989.
Sandy moved to Mt. Shasta in 1989 and worked at Mercy Medical Center
for five years before coming to Mt. Shasta Physical Therapy.
Both Sandy and her husband, Sig, enjoy skiing, bicycling, swimming,
hiking and backpacking. She has served as coach and program director
for the Mt. Shasta Ski and Snowboard Team, which includes athletes
ages 5-18.
