How
to Join the Fitness Program
As a Wellness Center member, you will begin your lifestyle change with
a complete fitness evaluation. Call or stop by to schedule an appointment
with either Linda Valenzuela or Robert Jones, both certified personal
trainers. The evaluation is based on guidelines established by the
American College of Sports Medicine. It is designed to be thorough
and safe, and the evaluation can be completed by everyone regardless
of his or her fitness level. The evaluation takes about an hour
and a half. During the evaluation your blood pressure and heart
rate will be taken, then we will look at your flexibility, posture,
and balance, and in some cases cardiovascular ability. A body composition test is optional. This test will tell you your approximate
percent body fat. We will discuss your goals, and recommend a program
that will best meet those goals. We will show you how to properly
set up and use all of our gym equipment and recommend individualized
exercises selected for you. As part of your membership you are allowed
two free upgrades of your program per year. To schedule a program
upgrade, make an appointment with either Linda V.or Robert. They
will review your program with you adding exercises, suggesting changes
and making recommendations to fine-tune your progress.
